WebMaggot Lair and Arcane Sanctuary are awful places for a summoner necro, however I'd wager corpse explosion will move things along much faster than skeleton mages. Corpse Explosion is a premier necromancer skill used in the bomber necro and the fishymancer. A "pure" summoner wouldn't use it, however you'd be far less efficient without it.
